Walking Tour Reviews

August, 2023
My wife and I took the walking tour with Antonio yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. What a delightful and insightful tour guide he is. His enthusiasm for the history of Weston is catching. We have been coming to Westin from southeast Kansas for twenty years and yesterday was the most enjoyable visit yet.

Thanks, Antonio!

Jim and Louise

Meet Your Tour Guide

Antonio Laguna is a citizen of the world, born in Germany, moving to Australia and the States. Weston is the town this High School Senior calls home.

An avid history buff, Antonio works at the Weston Chamber of Commerce, where he researches local history, works events, and creates tours. He volunteers for the frontier museum at Ft. Leavenworth and for the Black Ancestry Awareness Campaign of Weston.

When he isn’t competing in state level music competitions and Knowledge Bowl, you’ll find him running cross-country, wearing the West Platte Blue Jay Mascot costume, and appearing in local theatre. Your tour could not be in better hands!

Meet Your Tour Guide

Michael Bless was born into one of the longest-resident families in Weston. The earliest Bless resident on record dates back to 1847. The Bless family published the Weston Chronicle and for generations, provided the news to the area. His sister, Carolyn was a state archivist and author of Weston history books.

Now, a volunteer for the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism - Michael combines his love for Weston's history and his passion for the historic downtown area into a role as a Tour Guide for the area’s historic tours.
