The City of Weston
City Government: The City is run by an elected Mayor and four members of the Board of Aldermen, two from each side of Weston. Main Street is the dividing line for the city wards. Ward I on the east side of Main Street and Ward II on the west side of Main Street. The Mayor and each board member are elected to serve two-year terms.

Dog Tags: Currently, all dogs must be tagged within the City of Weston. $5 for spayed/neutered and $10 for a non-spayed, non-neutered dog. (penalties for late purchases). Bring proof of rabies vaccination. No license for cats at this time. City of Weston's animal ordinance requires all dogs must be under the immediate control of its owner. Copies of this ordinance are available at City Hall.

Voter Registration: You can change your voter registration or register to vote at City Hall, Mid-Continent Library or the Board of Elections office in Platte City, MO.
Business Licenses: Required for ALL businesses. Renewal dates are January 1st of each year. Applications can be picked up at City Hall. Other than home-based businesses, all other businesses in town are required to have trash services.
Weston Business Listing: A list of local businesses, shops, restaurants, and services can be picked up at City Hall and is also available on this website.
Parks: Weston City Park has playgrounds, gazebo, picnic tables, grills, tennis courts, and basketball court. Franklin Park and Bless Park are also located in Weston. The Weston Bend State Park, located on the southern edge of Weston on Highway 45 offers picnic shelters, playgrounds, grills, walking/jogging trails, camping hookups and a scenic lookout point over the Missouri River. RECYCLING CENTER HOURS CHANGED
Effective March 1, 2014, the drop-off recycling center will be open on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
Household Hazardous Waste: The City of Weston is a member of the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program. Residents have year-round access to the safe disposal of unwanted products such as paint, lawn and garden chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, and house cleaners.
Residents can access the permanent facilities in Lee's Summit and Kansas City and also can attend any of the mobile events scheduled April through October, at no charge. For more information please visit www.recyclespot.org and click on the "HHW" tab, or call 816-701-8226.
Recycling & Bulky Item Dumpsters:
Recycling dropoff is located at the City Garage located at 725 Market Street (the corner of Blackhawk & Market Streets). Recycling items accepted in the co-mingled container are: Plastics #1 through #7, Aluminum, Tin Cans, Paper, and Chipboard (cereal boxes). Separate container for corrugated cardboard.
All types of glass can be recycled in the parking lot of New Deal Warehouse, 17953 45 Hwy N. in the purple Ripple Glass container.
The Bulky Item Dumpster (old chairs, mattresses, etc.) is available for residents and non-residents at the following charges: Residents- $18 for half truckload and $25 for a full truckload: Non-residents- $20 for a half truckload and $40 for a full truckload.
The Yard Waste Dumpster is free to residents of Weston. It is unavailable to non-residents. A key to access the yard waste dumpster can be rented at City Hall (deposit of $15.00).
All dumpsters at this location are available on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesday's from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
